Peacefully with her family by her side at the Sault Area Hospital on February 7, 2019 at the age of 85. Born in Searchmont on October 23, 1933. Predeceased by her loving husband Harold of 58 years. Lovingly remembered by her children Randy (Betty Jean), Clinton (Marci), Barbara Whalen (Gerry) and Shawn Oberholtzer (Chuck). Grandmother of Derrick, Christie, Chelsea, Benjamin, the late Adam, Aaron, Erica, Jonathan, Nicholas, Maddox, Riley, Nathan, Vieno, Kerttu, Roxanne, C.J., Sarah, Robert and Cole. Great grandmother of Avery, Oliver, Shae, Isla, Jaxon, Jace, Katie, Silynn, Chloe, Ava, Wyatt, Xaven and Odin. Predeceased by her parents Réné and Christina Robert. Sister of the late Allan Robert (RaeDean),Viola Stoneman (Jim), Donald Robert (Elaine), Alma Kasch, Stan Robert (Linda) and June Duguay (Charles). Edith will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit O’Sullivan Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (215 St. James St) on Saturday February 16, 2019 from 1:00pm until time of service in the chapel at 3:00pm with Claranne McFarling officiating. The family would like to thank the Sault Area Hospital, Dr. Taylor, Dr. Banks, and all the hospital professionals of the Intensive Care Unit, 2A, 3A, St. Gerard Majella Church and Anna Griswold for all the compassion given to the family.
