It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother on Friday, November 13th, 2020, in her 83rd year, after a brief but valiant battle with cancer.
Sixty-five years ago on November 26th, 1955, Mom married her soul mate (late Jack Russon). She was a loving and devoted wife, and she missed him every single day since his passing in 1996. She will be missed beyond measure by her loving children; Terry (Victoria B.C), Lori (son-in-law Patrick Mistal) and Jeff (daughter-in-law Theresa Hurdle). Much loved “G-ma” of Tamara Tadashore (Zach Frair).
Step-grandmother of Erik Mistal. Daughter of the late Ernie and Mildred Greene. She was pre-deceased by her “Baby Bro” Ron Greene whom she missed dearly. She is survived by her brothers Richard and Randy, her only sister Sharon (Paul Dick) and her sister-in-law Shirley Russon (late Harold). She will be forever missed by her “Sault Ste Marie Sister”, Barbara Klesh as well as numerous other friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She loved her fur baby Murphy and her fur grand babies (Marley, Bentley and Portia) with all of her heart.
We will be forever grateful for all of the amazing staff at Mapleview Extendicare, especially “her girls” on Twin Lakes who treated her with such love and compassion. Mom faced many health challenges over the past two years, and we would be remiss if we did not acknowledge all of the nurses and doctors at SAH, as well as her home care team (Amy Shoust, Jessica Jancke and Terry Robertson) who provided her with excellent care until the diagnosis of cancer 3 months ago necessitated admission to long term/palliative care.
Friends may visit the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 2-4 pm (maximum capacity of 40 people at a time, masks and physical distancing are mandatory). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to ARCH (payable by cheque or online) would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
