Peacefully at the Finnish Rest Home on Wednesday July 17, 2019 in her 94th year. She will be missed by her children, Raimo (Brenda), Rita and Juhani (Brenda) and grandchildren, Aaron (Jennifer), Kari (Kristy), Mark, Lucas (Daneen), Kaitlin (Ron), Jake (Karen), Matt and her ten great grandchildren, Olivia, Ava, Hayden, Jesse, Kai, Rielle, Teah, Jude, Cooper and Tess. Else will also be dearly missed by her many surviving relatives and friends in Finland. Else was the children's wear buyer/manager for many years at Virene's Department Store on Queen Street. She was also actively involved in her Finnish community for her entire life and sat on the Board of Directors that was instrumental in bringing the Finnish Rest Home to Sault Ste. Marie. In keeping with the families wishes, a private celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to to the Finnish Rest Home (payable by cheque).
