It is with great sadness that we regret to announce the recent passing of our most beloved mother Yvette (nee Schryer) on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in her 89th year at the Ontario Finnish Rest Home (OFRA). Wife and best friend of the late Lionel (Windy) Roussell. Most loving mother of Gary (Thelma), George (Yvonne), Keith (Trudy), Wendy Burns (Rob), Denise (Stan Richards), Gerard, and adopted daughter Adele Richards (John). Grandmother of Erin, Renae, Kelly, Carmen, Paul, Chris, Justin, Chad, Nicole, Raymond, and Jordan. Great grandmother of too many to list. Daughter of late Blanche and Dosithe Schryer. Sister of the late Lillian, Eva, Blanche, Bud, Rene, Cleo, Dan, and John. Cherished sister of the late Rachel (Buzz), late Armand (Joyce), Tony (Phyllis), late Jim (Liz), Julian (Juliette), Henry (Carole), and Ed Schryer. Sister-in-law of the late Lorne, late Bert (Alecta), late Donny (Shirley), and Marion (Louis). Much adored aunt of many nieces and nephews, and especially close to Pat and wife Brenda, and special friend Michelle Fitton.
She was loved by all those whose lives she touched. She had a great love of music and spending time with her family. Her kids meant everything to her and she had a special relationship with her close grand kids Nicole and Raymond, Jordan, and Carmen and Paul. She was a generous lady whose door was always open to anyone in need and her wonderful food was shared by many. She was a very spiritual person and had a special faith and we would like to think she is now with her beloved Windy. She was very happy to reside at the Ontario Finnish Rest Home and was very close to many of the staff and made some wonderful, close friends there. Words can not express how much she will be missed. Her kindness and love of people was truly exceptional and inspirational.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Ontario Finnish Rest Home Association (OFRA) would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
