(July 12, 1931 – May 16, 2018) – After a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts that the Rosset family announces the passing of Angelo Silvano Rosset. Angelo passed away surrounded by his family and the of love of his life of 63 years, Giusseppina (Pina). Loving father and hunting partner to his sons Ivan (Nancy) and John (Rita). Proud and committed Nonno of Shannon, Alisha (Peter), Catrina (Chris) and Eric (Viviam). Predeceased by his parents Francesco and Maria Rosset. Survived by his sister Antonita (late Leo) and brother Dino (late Rina). Remembered by many family and friends. Born in Azzano X, province of Udine, Italy. Angelo proudly served as a Bersaglieri with the Italian Army. After immigrating to Canada, he was an early member of the Sault Search and Rescue, served with the Militia in Sault Ste. Marie. After being a member for 40 years, he was awarded a life time membership to the Algoma Rod and Gun Club. Always committed, he was an active member of the Friulan Club for 40 years, Italian Choir, the Folk Arts Association, as well as being a Faithful Navigator and Commander for the Knights of Columbus and serving as an Acolyte with St. Gregory’s Church. Angelo will be remembered for his devotion to his family and faith, love of his friends and his passion for the outdoors, trap shooting and hunting. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church at 2 pm with Father Eric Pannike officiating. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to ARCH would be appreciated. The family would like to give special thanks to all the staff and volunteers at ARCH for the care and compassion given to Angelo and his family.
