Jackie Robinson

Jackie passed away peacefully in her 75th year after a short battle with cancer at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, Ontario on June 23, 2017. She was the loving wife for 57 years of Mervin Robinson, Spanish, Ontario and the supportive and devoted mother of Alberta Williams (Tony Usai), Cindy, Jeff (Wanda) and John. She was the cherished grandmother of Darlene Williams (Bryan Greenough), Scott Robinson-Usai, Keith Jackson (Laura), Jason (Dawn), Andrew (Kim), Sarah Thibodeau (Steve), Travis Charles Paradis, Dexter (Sam) and Deidrah (Colton). Jackie was also the adoring great grandmother of 4, with one on the way.

Jackie leaves a brother, Thomas Mathewson and sisters, Lorna Snider and Dale Ferguson. Jackie was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Ada Ferguson and brother, Theodore.

Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was the rock of the family. She welcomed all and never turned anybody away from her door.

“Jackie gave me the best 58 years of my life and was the matriarch of our family. She will be dearly loved and forever missed.”

Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Jackie at the Royal Canadian Legion in Spanish, Ontario on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 1pm to 5pm with Dave Lawrence officiating. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are gratefully appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home.
