Wing Commander Douglas F. Robertson. Distinguished Flying Cross: Retired. Peacefully at home in Ottawa on Thursday February 19, 2004 with his family by his side in his 82nd year. Loving husband of Janet (Mills) of 58 years. Cherished father of Elaine (Doug Calder) and Lynn (Dick Reid). Beloved Pa to Timothy, Caroline, Leigh and Beverly. Middle son of the late William and Georgina Robertson. Dear brother of Joyce Perry (late Jack). Predeceased by brothers Orval “Trapper” (Anitta) and Fawcett (Elaine). Doug leaves many nieces and nephews. Doug flew with Bomber Command in WWII and continued his flying career with the RCAF, retiring in Ottawa. In respecting Doug’s wishes there will be no visitation. A private internment at Beechwood Military Cemetery, Ottawa, will take place in the springtime. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society.
