Doug passed away peacefully and on his own terms, surrounded by his daughters, family and friends on Monday, September 20th, at Sault Area Hospital, at the age of 69. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Ruth Prusky, Dorothy Brennan nee Robinson (Al), and his loving wife Tina. He is survived by his cherished daughters Mya (Joey) and Lindsay (Jeff). Grandfather to Cooper and Molly. Brother to Garry (Mary), Steve (Sharon), Kelly, Kerry (Gail), Kim (Mark), Krista (late Brent), Kathleen (Vince).
 
Step-brother to the late Buddy (Bunny), Sharon, George (Helen), Teddy (Betty-Lynn), and the late Pat. Brother-in-law to Bonnie (late Clint), Glen (Donna), and Debra (John). Doug was a beloved uncle to Ryan, Lisa, Wayne, Amy, Shannon, Ashley, Ryan, Jeff, Angela, Christina, Shayla, Jayce, Michael, Geoffrey, Marcus, Darryl, David, Patrick, Alexander, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Daniel, Douglas, Jennifer, Sheldon, Trudy, Toni, Kerry, Jody, Andrea, Jonathan, James, Derrick and Julia. Great-uncle to many. Doug will be greatly missed by his best-friend and brother of over 60 years, Doug Collins. He is now reunited with his wife Tina, who passed away 13 days prior to him.
 
Doug was born and raised in Chapleau. He dedicated over 30 years to the Canadian Pacific Railway as a conductor and engineer. Doug was an avid golfer and a regular volunteer of the Chapleau golf course, who will be greatly missed by his teammates Doug, JC, Moran, Jimmy and Billy, and all he spent time with at the golf course. He was also a proud supporter of the Royal Canadian Legion and will be missed by all of his friends there. 
 

Doug’s family would like to extend a very heart-felt thank you to the numerous healthcare workers who took part in his care including Dr. Stephen and Dr. Kendra Saari, Dr. Mohammad Rassouli, Dr. Sarwat Shehata, and ICU doctors, Ghosh, Landry, Difabio, Khot, Berg and White. They would also like to thank all of the wonderful nurses in ICU, especially Jessica, Robin, Kaitlyn and Charlie, as well as the nurses in Radiation and Oncology at SAH. A special thank you goes out to the Dechamplain family, whom Doug loved very dearly. Doug was his usual witty self, joking with family, friends and staff, until the very end.

Memorial donations in memory of Doug can be made to the ICU at Sault Area Hospital, the Chapleau Kebsquasheshing Golf Course, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 5. Cremation has taken place at River’s Edge Cremation Centre, Sault Ste. Marie. Funeral arrangements will be announced, and a celebration of life will take place, at a later date.
