PINE, Charles - Makode` - Sturgeon Clan (1938-2022)

Charles was called home by the Creator on Sunday, May 22, 2022 and will be reunited with his sons Mitchell, Thomas, Kevin and daughter Karen.

As a descendant of Chief Shingwauk, Charles held close to his traditional knowledge, history, and always had time to share his love of the Ojibway language. He was best known for his cedar post business after his retirement, which he continued until he was 75. Most times you would catch him enjoying Pow Wows or joking with his buddies at the mall. Family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren were always a joy to him. We will miss his wisdom and laughter but we will be comforted knowing he is on his journey to the spirit world.

Charles will be missed by his lifetime soulmate Joanne Pine and daughter Linda Pine. Charles will be missed by many grandchildren Ronald, Jason (Allysia) Ashley (Raymond), Joanna, Cheyenne, Jacob, Coletan, Chastity, Keirsten, Anung, Malachi, Amber and great grandchildren Michael, Elizabeth, Makiesha, Maiciah, Emery, Creeda, Everle Aiden and Jerell. He was predeceased by paternal parents John and Elizabeth Pine, and nephew Curtis, grandson Walter, granddaughter Katherine.

A special thanks to SAH Cancer Care Unit, the Palliative Team to assist him to return home and the ARCH staff for their care and compassion. Thank you to the Garden River Fire Department and the Fire Keepers for their ongoing support and assistance at this difficult time.
