Peacefully at the Fairview Manor in Almonte, Ontario on Monday February 16, 2004; Margaret Piccolo in her 86th year. Wife of the late Leonard Piccolo. Beloved mother of; Leonard Jr. (Sandy), Michael (Dianne Ambeault) of Sault Ste. Marie and Peggy (Brian Smith) of Kinburn, Ontario. Proud grandmother of; Kelly Piccolo, Kathryn Piccolo and Spencer Smith. Daughter of the late Thomas McAuley and the late Albina LaHaye. Sister of; Abigail Boucher (late Larry), Wilbert (late Nancy), late Thomas, Rita Roby, Monica Shami (Paul), Alfred (Dorothy), Theresa Lavergne (late Lee), late Mary Lucas (John) and Frank (Anne). Sister-in-law of; the late Rita Fox (late Paul), late Norma Provenzano (late Frank), late Corina Campbell (Ian), Claude Piccolo (Lila) and Mario Piccolo (late Colleen). Cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews and special friend to Danny Boucher. Margaret was born in Sault Ste. Marie and grew up on Central Park Avenue. She attended Sault Collegiate high school, graduating in 1936. Then, on July 31, 1940 she became a registered nurse. She married Leonard Piccolo on July 1, 1948 and continued caring for the sick until the mid 1950's when she gave up her nursing career to become a full time wife and mother. Her final four years were spent at the Fairview Manor in Almonte where she remained active in helping care for others in need. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road
945-7758) on Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph The Worker Church on Friday February 20, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Ron Ambeault officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to the
Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
