PAUL, Margaret (Charrette)

Feb. 28, 1963 – July 27, 2022

If love could have saved you, You would still be here.

After a very courageous  battle against cancer, Mom passed peacefully away at her home with her family and friends by her side. Originally from Sault Ste Marie, ON, Margaret Paul, age 59 years in Middle Cove NL

Survived by the love of her life and lifelong partner of 39 years, Michael “Mick” Paul.

Being a mother came naturally to mom, and she filled that role well. She had many adopted or as ones would say “chosen kids”. Too many to mention, but you all know who you are. Leaving to mourn her best friend and daughter, Amanda Arsenault and son-in-law, Fred Arsenault (who was her best buddy); son Terry ( her arguing buddy) and daughter-in-law Sharon Charrette; son Michael Charrette, who was  her sunshine.

Mom was often heard saying “I love you to the moon and back” to her 3 precious grandchildren – her pride and joy – grandsons Joey and Luke Arsenault, and granddaughter Lauren Charrette. They couldn’t have asked for a better Grama dearest.

Adored daughter-in-law to Zita Paul. Predeceased by her parents, Norman and Jacqueline Charrette; and father-in-law, Leonard Paul.

Survived and loved by her very close siblings: Norman Charrette (Cheryl), Charlene Godfrey (Ted), Janet Brydges (Bruce), Laurie Florio, Estelle (Beaver) Irving; sister-in-law, Karen Charrette & brother-in-law Bob Burch. Predeceased by Roseanne Burch, Terry Charrette and infant brother Gerald Charrette.

Equally loved and missed by sisters-in-law: Joan (Gerald), Theresa (Dave), Rose (James), Colleen and Marion; brothers-in-law: Bren, Brian, Sean (Laurieann); Predeceased by brother-in-law, Don.

We, the family, would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of the special family members and friends who’ve helped us through this journey and those who’ve made the trip to be with mom in her final days: very best friend Donna MacDonald, special cousin Marlene Tucci, brother Norman, niece Tracy, special sister Laurie and nephew Tim, close friends Pattiann Kinsella, Janice McCarthy, Pam Arsenault, Gwennie Elms (and the card gals), Sarah Elliott, Laurie ann Paul, and nephew Andy Burch. If we’ve missed anyone, please know we appreciate you as well and you’ll remain in our hearts and mom’s heart.

Very special Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Please always cherish your unique relationships with her. She was always so proud of each and every one of you.

Lastly and certainly very importantly we would like to thank all of the compassionate and amazing Health Care workers that have supported and helped navigate us throughout mom’s journey: Dr. J. Greenland, Dr. J. Siddique, Dr. M. Mahoney, Dr. M. O’Dea, all of the nurses, techs, clerks, and pharmacists at the Cancer Care Clinic; the nurses on 4NA Oncology; all of the staff at Metro Pharmacy, and Majors Path Medical Clinic – especially the most amazing family doctor – Dr. S. Kavanagh – who has been there for not only mom, but all of us; The Paramedicine program Mark and Candace, the Public Health nurses Twyla and Coretta and Compassion Home Care – Ruth and Paul who guided us very carefully throughout the end.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from Caul’s Funeral Home, TORBAY, on Monday, August 1, from 12noon-3pm, immediately followed by a Service of Celebration at Caul’s Chapel at 3:30pm. For those who wish to attend virtually, you may follow the link: https://vimeo.com/event/2316861.

A celebration of life will be held in Sault Ste Marie at a later time.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in Mom’s memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation. To view the online memorial guest book or leave a message of condolence, please visit www.cauls.ca.
