PAGANUCCI, Paolo Roberto

Posted

July 21, 1961 – July 18, 2022

It is with great sadness and sorrow that I announce the sudden passing of my dear brother Paul. Paul passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on Monday, July 18, 2022, 3 days short of his 61st birthday.

Paul was the cherished son of the late Elda (nee Serfilippi) and Giuseppe Paganucci. Dearest brother of Mariangela.

Paul was a talented welder and took pride in having worked on the Rotary Arch. Paul started his career with China Steel as an apprentice and after receiving his ticket he was hired by Algoma Steel, from where he retired on October 1, 2020.

Paul enjoyed watching Formula 1 racing and was happy to see Ferrari back to their winning ways. He cheered for the Leafs, no matter what, and the Blue Jays. Paul enjoyed 2 fingers of good scotch every Saturday before supper.

Paul will be missed by our numerous cousins in Canada, Germany, and Italy. He will also be missed by his co workers at Algoma Steel, especially Owen Heeps.

Heartfelt thanks to our relatives, friends and neighbours for all their kindness, support, and donations of food and also to the SSM Fire Services, EMS, and Officers Poderys and Greco.

There will be a public visitation at O’Sullivan Funeral Home (215 St. James St, SSM) on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gregory’s Church at 12:00 pm. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to SAHF Cancer Care Fund or the Heart and Stroke Foundation (payable online or by cheque). Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral Home (215 St. James Street, Sault Ste. Marie, ON, P6A 1P7, 705-759-8456).
