NOLAN, Marie Paulette (nee Sylvester) – “Mummers”

Surrounded by her three daughters, after a lengthy battle with breast cancer, Zaagaate Kwe went to the Spirit world to be with her husband Terry (2010).  Marie passed away at the age of 61, on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH).  Daughter of the late Hettie Sylvester of Toronto, Ontario and the late Gaston Mantha of Maniwaki, Quebec.  Loving mother of Angela (Stuart), Brandi (Garth) and Debra (Sidney).  Cherished Mummer of Sierra, Tyra and Stuart Souliere and Sydney, Zakary, Allie, Wesley, Ava and Terry Nolan.  Dear sister of the late Tom Sylvester (Bonnie), late Allan Lapratt (Nancy) and Susan Coker (Lynn).  A special sister/cousin to Jackie Lapratt.  Daughter-in-law of the late Stan and Rose Nolan.  Sister-in-law of the late Rod Thibault (Eileen), late Katie Lariviere (late Albert), Rita Tice (late Joe), late Rick (Lorraine), Tom (Barb), Arlene Barry (Charlie), Barb, Joey, Ted (Sandra), Steve (Colleen) and Janice (Shawn).  Godmother of Tommy Nolan.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.  Marie was born in Toronto and raised in Christian Island, by her grandmother Grace King.  She was married to Terry in 1972 in Toronto and shortly after, they moved to Garden River where they raised their three daughters.  Marie was a devoted employee of the Garden River First Nation as the Economic Development Officer for the past 21 years.  Marie was a kind women, who loved to travel, to learn and to read.  Mummer especially took great pride in her grandchildren.  Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 6 – 9 pm and on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, from 10 am until time of funeral services at 3 pm.  Brother John Hascall O.F.M.
