With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Robert Nelson ‘Bob’ at the age of 80, at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday March 25, 2020. Predeceased by his wife of 42 years Rose (nee Barton), their son Darrin Nelson, his parents Hector and Mary (nee Jagger) and his brother Ralph Nelson. Bob leaves behind his love and partner Linda Blatter. Loving father of Tonya Morris (Gord Hodgins) and Derrick Nelson (Terri). Best grandpa ever to Kyle Morris (Kara Lawrence), Kelsey Hendershott (Carson) and Sarah Frolich (Lonnie). Great Grandpa to Greg Frolich and Josh Frolich. Dear brother of Charlie Nelson (Jeannie), Betty Cruickshank (Jim), Dana Stevens (late Wilfred) and Nancy Hachey (Francis). Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, stepchildren, step grandchildren, friends and his partner in crime Graham Kent (Sherrie). The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Sault Area Hospital for their help during this difficult time. Donations can be made to the St. Joseph Island Lions Club or Matthews Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we will have a Celebration of Life following the interment at a safe and later date.
