(August 15, 1944 – July 25, 2016) - With heavy hearts we announce the passing of William Ellis Moore at the age of 71, after fighting a lengthy battle with a Glioblastoma brain tumor. He leaves behind Evelyn his wife of 47 years, two children Robert Moore (Joyce Tremelling and companion Carole) and Karen Gerber (Stephen Dale), as well as two grandchildren Joshua Robert and Grace Amanda. Also left behind are his six siblings, Marion (Reg), Lois (Dan), Robert (Anne), Lyall (Theresa), Donald and Joan. Ellis will also be missed by his dog and loyal sidekick Bubba. Ellis was considered handy on multi levels. After his retirement from Algoma Steel he mastered woodworking and built several pieces that will be treasured keepsakes. He was a loyal friend and neighbour to many and was always considered your “go to guy” if you needed anything fixed or done. He was a Born Again Christian, loved The Lord Our God, his family and friends and will be greatly missed by many.

As per Ellis’ wishes a celebration of life will be held at the Echo Bay Elks Lodge on Saturday July 30, 2016 from 12 to 4pm. Interment will take place in Laird Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to ARCH Community Hospice or Matthews Memorial Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
