MOORE, Lorne Walter

(October 14, 1942 - June 1, 2023) - Passed away peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the age of 80. 

Predeceased by his loving wife of 44 years in 2019, Pamela Elizabeth Moore. Caring father to Scott Moore (Pam) of Thunder Bay, ON and Robin Moore of Toronto, ON. Devoted grandfather to Devin Moore of Thunder Bay, ON, Kaydi Kondra (Tyler) of Sioux Lookout, ON, Jessica Kondra (Phil) of Vermilion Bay, ON and Allie Kondra (Remi) of Calgary, AB. Great-Grandfather to Scarlett Hogan of Sioux Lookout, ON and Lainey Tulk of Vermilion Bay, ON. Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Mary Moore, and three siblings Dennis Moore, Colin Moore and Owen Moore. 

Lorne was the youngest son to Harvey and Mary Moore. As a young man Lorne enjoyed many sports and Air Cadets in Sault Ste. Marie for several years. Following a short stint in the RCAF stationed at Base Borden, Lorne returned to Sault Ste. Marie in the early 1960's and joined the Tarentorus Police Department before being amalgamated into the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. In 1966 Lorne moved to Mississauga where he joined the Toronto Township Police which became Mississauga and eventually Peel Police. In 1976 Lorne and his wife Pamela embarked on a new career together travelling from coast to coast and all points in between working for Famous Players Theatres. In the 1990's Lorne enjoyed working in private security and in the late 1990's rejoined Peel Police as an assistant to the Chief of Police. In 2004 Lorne and Pamela resettled back in Sault Ste Marie. Pamela enjoying success in private business as an esthetician with Lorne embracing retirement, along with many summers spent at Hilton Beach. 

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Friday, June 9th, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.    
Interment of ashes will be at Bethel Cemetery in Dundalk, ON alongside his beloved wife Pamela at a later date. If friends desire, memorial contributions payable by cheque or online to the FJ Davey Home Foundation would be appreciated.

The family would like to recognize all the staff of Driftwood #2 at the FJ Davey Home for their love, attention and care of Lorne these last number of months.
