It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Grama and Great Grama (“Ggma” and “Gigi”) in her 100th year.  She passed peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on August 4, 2019 surrounded by her loving family with a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Born in Birmingham England on December 16, 1919.  The daughter of the late Charles and Lily Csete.  Predeceased by her husband Jack.  Loving mother to the late Louis “Skip” (Sandra), the late Charles “Chuck” (Jane) and Jack (Emily).  The most special caring Grama to Jamie (Gio) Moody, Carly (Andy) LaDouceur, Daniel (Kelley) Moody and Tyler (Anna) Moody.  The extremely proud Great Grama (“Ggma” and “Gigi”) to Alexandra, Jackson, Mya, Fraser, Robin and Ryan.  Lifetime friend to her special “other daughter” Marilyn Schmidt.  Beloved Aunt to Randy, “Pinky” and Pat. Caring friend to Emily Nobel.

Our family could write a book about all of our collective memories shared with this amazing woman.  As the matriarch of the family she instilled a sense of caring, generosity and love, in her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She spent countless hours baking and cooking for not only her family and friends but also for the many dogs she cared for throughout her lifetime.  Through her wonderful home cooked meals and her legendary Christmas cake she managed to pass on her love of cooking/baking to her sons, grandchildren and even to her great grandchildren.  “Nellie” shot from the hip, told it like it was, and she made no excuses.  Her feistiness came from her always wanting the best for her family.  She provided her family and friends with a lifetime of unforgettable memories, especially at Island Lake.

Eleanor will be remembered for her profound love for her family and her selflessness, as she always put others needs ahead of her own.  Her generosity touched everyone she met.  Although she is physically no longer with us, she will live on in our hearts and memories forever.  We could not have loved and admired her more.

We would like to thank all of the amazing staff at the F. J. Davey Home for the overwhelming kindness and compassion that they not only showed Eleanor but our entire family.  We would also like to thank Dr. Wytsma and Dr. Pearson for the wonderful care they gave Eleanor over the years.  At the request of Eleanor there will not be a funeral and cremation has taken place.  Memorial donations (payable by cheque) to the F.J. Davey Home Foundation, St. Peter’s Anglican Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E 705-759-2522).
