Moise, Lucien

Moïse, Lucien Aza Patrick “Lou” – Passed away on September 14, 2022 in Blind River surrounded by his loving family after a mercifully short but intense battle with cancer in his 77th year. Lou is survived by his wife and best friend Rita, better known to her friends as PeeNee. Loving father to his beloved daughter Raquel Horton (Todd), Darren Rosendale, Sheryle Rosendale and cherished grandfather to Brock and Olivia. Pre-deceased by his parents Joseph and Irene (nee Cuillerier) Moïse, he is survived by siblings Aline Charron (late Marcel), Robert Moïse (Daisy), Louise Moïse, Ernestine, Shirley, Loretta, Marianne and Violet. Lou was a truly “great” surrogate grandfather to Pauli-Ann James, a long time friend of Paddy and Diane Hogue and a first–rate uncle to many nephews and nieces.

Lou was a hard worker, a great friend to many people in Blind River and a person who gave generously of his time and energy to the betterment of his community. He will be remembered as a foreman for the Town Of Blind River Public Works and served a term as a member of the Blind River Council. In his retirement years, Lou continued to serve his community by driving many to their medical appointments throughout Northern Ontario and was never too busy to help a friend in need. He was always ready to lend a hand when asked.

Thank you to Sault Area Hospital and North Shore Health Network, Blind River site.

Family and friends are welcome to a memorial gathering to be held at the Blind River Legion on Saturday, October 15, 2022 between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

Arrangements entrusted to the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel & Cremation Centre (www.elliotlakefuneralchapel.com)
