August 25, 1918 - November 22, 2018 –
Predeceased by his beloved wife Marie, his parents Howard and Aletta and his brother Kelly and sister Frances Oathwaite. Loving father of Barry (Margaret), Katherine Stevenson (Clarence), and Jane Primeau (Ralph). Dear grandfather of Don Mitchell (Kate), Jeff Mitchell (Rachel), Joe Kilby (Yvonne), Meghan Coe (Chuck), Chris Primeau (Stacy), Mike Primeau (Leah) and Kyle Primeau (Tracey). Great grandfather of 12.
Veteran of the Second World War and a long serving member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Veterinarian with the Department of Agriculture. A former resident of Sundridge, Ontario where he was an active participant in the Knox Presbyterian Church. He loved his big garden and tapping trees in his maple sugar bush which allowed him to build a fire.
Most recently a resident of the Ontario Finnish Rest Home in Sault Ste. Marie where the staff provided him with care and friendship as they had for his wife Marie when she was a resident in the nursing wing.
Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Sunday November 25, 2018 from 12 pm to 1:30 pm.
Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 2 pm. The Rev. John Wilson officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the medical staff at the Sault Area Hospital for the care they provided during his illness and the support given to the family during this sad and trying time. You eased his passing.
Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 are requested to assemble at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel for a memorial service for the late Dr. Keith Mitchell on Sunday November 25, 2018 at 2 pm.
