On Friday, July 23, 2021, the most beautiful person inside and out, passed away suddenly, but peacefully with her husband and love of her life of 53 years, Jerry by her side. She was the very proud mother of Jason (Jennifer) and the world’s best nana to Brody Mihailiuk and James Fletcher. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Ann Symboluk. Dear sister of Harry (Linda), and the late Lilliann Glemnitz (late George). Special aunt to Travis and Trevor. Dear sister-in-law to the late Helen Evanovich (late George), Peggy Sarchuck (Leo), Nick Mihailiuk (Marsha), and the late Roger Mihailiuk (Joan). She will be dearly missed by her Wawa family: Bonnie Smedts (Willy), Connie Gerrier (Paul), Betty Gaudette (Raoul), the Pruce families: Andy Pruce (Sandy), Donny Pruce (Wanda), Greg Pruce (Linda), Janice Mcelwain (Harold), Maury Pruce (Paula), and the Symboluk families: Michael Symboluk, Johnny Symboluk (Susan), Kerry Symboluk (Donna), Marie Digasparro (Anthony). Being the social butterfly that she was, Phyllis could not have gone through life without making such dear friends. She will be missed by these very important ladies in her life: Stella, Assunta, Adele, Darlene, Patty and reunited with the late Sandra and late Vi. There are so many more people that Phyllis’s life touched, but it is impossible to name them all, please know how important you all were to her.
Phyllis was very proud of her Degree in Accounting that she received from Algoma University. Even though she was currently working in the field she always said, “I want that piece of paper”. She leaves behind so many people that loved her and who she loved. Phyllis was the light in so many peoples’ lives. Her passing has left the world a little dimmer.
As per Phyllis’s wishes, cremation has taken place and she will rest in peace waiting to be reunited with her husband Jerry. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Being the huge cat lover that Phyllis was, memorial donations to the Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
