Peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in his 96th year with his two sons by his side.  Devoted husband of Iris for 73 years.  Loving father of Roy (Shirley) and Brian (Carl).  Proud grandfather of Shelley (Jeff), Trevor, Rob (Tanya), Steve (Nikki) and Julia (Tim).  Cherished great grandfather of Nash, Tate and Aspen Marie Iris.  Predeceased by his parents Otis and Margaret Middleton and his two sisters Beulah Cunningham (late Walter) and Tillie Cunningham (late Jack).  Brother-in-law of late Frank (late Betty), Brian (Jenny) in England.  Fred will also be fondly remembered by many relatives in the UK and the US, especially Chris (John) in the UK, and his family in Nova Scotia and close Soo friends Herman, Sherry, Gee, Anja P., and Anja B.  Fred was an avid golfer and will be sorely missed by all who knew him at the Root River Golf Club.  He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 70 years. Survived D-Day Invasion and was recently awarded the Legion of Honour by the French Government. He was a proud veteran.  Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Friday, July 12 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.  Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 1 pm. Debbie Amaroso officiating. Memorial contributions to F.J. Davey Home or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 Poppy Fund would be greatly appreciated.  Special thank you to the nurses and PSW's on Birch Lane 2 at the FJ Davey Home for their care and compassion especially Jen, Karine, Amy, Ashley and Savi.

Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are requested to assemble at the Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 1 pm for a memorial service for the late Fred Middleton.
