Peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Saturday, August 18, 2018 in her 94th year with family at her side. Devoted and cherished wife of Fred for 73 years. Loving and adored mother of Roy (Shirley) and Brian (Carl). Proud grandmother of Shelley (Jeff), Trevor, Rob (Tanya), Steve (Nikki) and Julia (Tim). Cherished great grandmother of Nash, Tate and Aspen Marie Iris. Daughter of the late Harry and Nellie Slater. Dear sister of late Frank (late Betty), Brian (Jenny) in England. Daughter-in-law of the late Otis and Margaret Middleton. Sister-in-law of the late Beulah and the late Tillie. Iris will also be fondly remembered by many relatives in the UK and the US, especially Chris (John) in the UK, and close friend Herman. Mom and Nan to many. Iris continues to be an inspiration to all who knew her. Iris was an avid golfer and will be sorely missed by all who knew her at the Root River Golf Club. Iris was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies' Auxiliary for over 60 years. Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
