Portage, Michigan. Jacque was an inspiring woman who touched many lives and hearts throughout the world. She was born October 11, 1934 in Three River, MI, to the late A.O. & Bernice (Burchard) Elliott. She received her bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University. After working as a professional advocate in mental health she returned to receive her Masters of Divinity from the McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. She was ordained by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) She was the co-founder of the Crossroads Institute in Kalamazoo. Jacque was a teacher, mentor, minister, and healer; she has been and is a loving presence to thousands. Her family includes her children; Jan Metheany and David Bussineau of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, John and Rachel Metheany of Portage, MI, and Laura Metheany of Traverse City, MI, and their father John Metheany and grandmother Virginia Metheany of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario; her siblings: Sharon Carothers of Madison, OH, Ralph and Leeann Elliott of Lincoln City, OR, Jerri-Lynn and John Otto of Corvallis, OR, and Kris Elliott and Shirley Lang of Gahanna, OH; her grandchildren: Nicole-Elaine-Patricia Falldien, Sean-Paul-Michael Falldien, and Jessica Bay, Eden Margaret, and Grace Elaine Metheany; her 13 loving nieces and nephews, and her 8 beloved great nieces and nephews. Jacqueline made her peaceful and joyous transition at Rose Arbor Hospice on Christmas Day 2003 surrounded by family. Memorial service was held at 3 pm at Life Story Funeral Homes-Rupert, Durham, Marshall & Gren Portage Chapel, 5975 Lovers Lane.
