Robert Francis McMenemy passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 6th, 2003 at the William Osler Health Centre, (Georgetown Campus), in his 82nd year. Beloved husband for 56 years of Anne Bullivant. Devoted and cherished father of Bob (Lee) of Sault Ste. Marie, David (Connie), Mike (Anglie) and Tom (Marie) all of Georgetown. Proud grandfather of Erin Hemsworth (Kevin) of Brookin, Lindsay McMenemy (friend Mike) of Sault Ste. Marie, Jill Couling (Brent) of Barrie and Mike McMenemy (friend Jen), Rob, Ryan, Emily and Missy McMenemy, Scott and Anna McMenemy and Matt, Kailei Elik. Great grandfather of Andrew and Ben Couling. Bob was a Veteran of WW II (Highland Light Infantry of Canada) and a lifetime member of St. John's United Church, a member of many civic committees and organizations including the Normandy Blvd. reunion. A well known and accomplished athlete in his youth. Bob retired as the Business Administrator of Georgetown District High School in 1984. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Avenue, Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral and committal service will be held at St. John's United Church (11 Guelph St. Hwy. #7), Georgetown on Saturday, February 8th at 2:00 pm. Cremation follows. In memory contributions to the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills, William Osler Health Centre, (Georgetown Campus) or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
