With sadness we announce that on March 13, 2019 Brian John McLean passed away at ARCH at the age of 80. Brian will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Peggy of 54 years. Son of (late) Loyola and Lida McLean. Loving father of Greg (Sylvianne), Mark, Brad (Erin), and Julie (Dave). Fondly remembered by grandchildren Jake, Olivia, Emily, Ava, Kala, Kale, Hanalei and Mikaele. Dear brother to Ken (Susan McLean), Laureen (Dennis Davey), and Mary (McLean). Special uncle to many nieces and nephews; he treasured all of you. And of course McGee will truly miss his master and companion. After retirement from Algoma Steel, Brian enthusiastically enjoyed utilizing his Professional Engineering background and his craftsmanship skills to build, construct and fix many projects at home and for others. Friends and family are invited to visit Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East) on Friday March 22, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday March 23, 2019 at 11:00 am at St Gerard Majella Church with Reverend Father Alex Saurianthadathil officiating, with a reception to follow for family and close friends (to be announced). A heartfelt note of thanks to Dr. Anis Aziz (Urology), Dr. Nicki Apostle and the Palliative Care Team (Holly, Liza and other caring nurses and volunteers from ParaMed, ARCH and SAH Cancer Care Unit). Their care and compassion were outstanding! Memorial donations to ARCH, Sault Area Hospital Foundation Cancer Care Fund or St. Gerard Majella Church would be appreciated.
