Passed away peacefully at the St Joseph’s Manor in Elliot Lake on October 13, 2019 at the age of 75.  Pre-deceased by her husband Robert “Bob” McDonald in 1993, she is survived by her husband Garfield Roache of Blind River and children Terry (Kim Bates) of Blind River, Jamey McDonald of Vancouver BC and Cindy McDonald (Jim) of Chester NS. Dear step mother of Dennis Roache (Chantale) of Camlachie, ON and grandmother to Terrance (Cassie), Amanda (Scott), Laura, Thomas, Ben, Kameron, Hannah, Gage, Zack, and great grandmother of Paige.  Pre-deceased by her parents James “Jim” and Catherine (nee Laderoute) Leblanc and siblings Bertha Craftchick, Cécile Albert, Shirley Brière, Jimmy Leblanc and Darleen Gaillard. Also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. 

Born in Blind River in 1940, Yvette was always a part of the community and was an avid curler and bowler.  She worked many years at Beaver Lumber and also owned and operated White’s corner store across from the high school. She cherished her time outdoors and looked forward to spending time at the cottage on Lake Matinenda.  Family and friends will be received from St. James Parish in Blind River on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.  Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery Blind River. 

Memorial contributions to the St. Joseph’s Manor in Elliot Lake would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel & Cremation Centre (36 Ontario Ave.)

The family wish to express their gratitude to the nurses, caregivers and staff of St. Joseph’s Manor for the care and compassion they gave to Yvette while she was a resident.  Your thoughtfulness will remain with us in the years to come.
