June 3, 1968 – July 24, 2022

Nancy started her journey to the spirit world on July 24, 2022, at the young age of 54. Survived by her adoring husband of 35 years Wayne F. McGaughey. Loving mother of late John- Wayne McGaughey, Shayne McGaughey (Bryanna Danrath), Samantha McGaughey, (Richard Leigh) and her fur babies Jax, Pumpernickel, Lily, Magic, M.J., and Dewalt. Loving Nana of Damian, Aiden, Tiia, Willow. Daughter of  Late Jack and Lynn Mason. Daughter in law of late Francis and Violet McGaughey. Sister of Janie Mason (Stephen Forsell), Laura -Lee Chamberlain (Denis), Tyler Mason (Laurie Bell), and Trevor Mason (Alicia). Sister-in-law of Janie (Paul), Gloria, Chester, and Anita (Paul). Special Auntie to Mason, Nick, Dylan, Katie, Ryleah, T.J., Chaase, Madison, Stacey, Mark, Christina, Karen, Cheryl, Debbie, Michael, Sherri-Lynn, Kathy, and Paula.

Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family and her fur babies at her favorite place the family camp on Patten Lake. She loved to be surrounded by family, and planning events to have us all gather together.  She left the physical world swiftly without time to tell you all that she loved you but know that she did.

Nancy had many talents, she loved music, could play the piano, and the soprano horn, she loved fast cars and motorcycles, kayaking and reading. Nancy had recently completed her Diploma as Social Service Worker with Indigenous Specialization and she enjoyed learning and practicing her Ojibway culture. She loved creating traditional beadwork and sharing her beaded artwork with family and friends.

Nancy always loved with her whole heart, often giving everything, she could to help another person in need. There are too many names to mention here but she loved all, that came to her home, kids, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, and even the adults! If someone needed love, support or guidance she would do anything she could for them, often putting herself last.

We will miss her tremendously and ask that you take time to celebrate her by sharing the memories that you have of her with each other. It will take an army to fill the void she leaves, but we will all stand together in honor of the amazing person she was.

Nancy’s wishes were to have something very intimate and private. A private celebration of Nancy’s life has taken place and she started her journey to the spirit world by traditional smudging by her cousin Katie. You are amazing and we can not thank you enough.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that worked tirelessly, with their hard work, donations and support to make the celebration of her life a great success and one that will live in our memories forever.
