It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Bill Martynuck. With his wife by his side, Bill passed away peacefully at home on July 9,2020 at the age of 80. Cherished husband, best friend and soulmate of Carol (nee Childs) for 35 years. Loving father of Christine Newman (Steve), Craig (Stephanie) and Justine Patry (Sylvain). Proud grandfather of Shane, Dylan, Caleb, Chloe, Titus, Gabriel, Kassandra, Jacob, Angele, Andrea, Joshua, Michael and Danielle. Brother of Sue Stanghetta (Mel) and Stan (late Aldene) Predeceased by brother John (Norma) and sisters Marie Stanghetta (late Mike) and Anne Stone (late Gordon). Son of the late Bartyk and Josephine Martynuck (nee Dzama). Son-in-law of Alice Childs (late John) of Hope, Michigan. Brother-in-law of Wayne Childs (Kathy) and Elgin Childs (Lori) both of Hope, Michigan. He will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Bill was a plumber with Stanghetta Plumbing for over 40 years.  He loved eating out, shopping for the latest “toy” or collectible (hockey cards were his biggest passion), traveling with his wife and visiting various casinos.  Bill’s last words to his family were: “We had a good life and we had everything we needed....I was a hard worker with a good work ethic, man of my word and I did my best ”His best included fighting cancer since 1996 and with the reoccurrence in 2018.  He fought hard for the last 28 months, his goal was to turn 80, which he achieved in May 2020.At Bill’s request there will be a private family gathering at a later date.

Thank you to Bayshore Home Care, especially to his nurse, Kim Timmerman.  The family would also like to send a special thank you to Debbie Collins-Maskell for her guidance and support and to Mary Hill for her care and compassion in his final days. Thank you to his many friends and family in Canada and the US for the continued prayers and support.
