MARTONE, Donato (Don)

February 2, 1949 – October 21, 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donato (Don) Martone on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the age of 67, surrounded by his loving family. Don is survived by his best buddy, Jennifer, his devoted wife of 48 years. Cherished father to Deanna (James), Donny (Pam), and Teresa (Aldo). Loving Papa to Jessie, Madelynn, Liam, Ella, Jade and Bailey. Don was a proud man and family was his whole world. Son of the late Maria and Luigi Martone of Winnipeg.  Older brother to Nina (Joe), Enzo (Sandra), Tony (Tessie).  He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Don loved baseball, having coached for 12 years, and serving as President of Sault Minor Baseball Association for 10 years. Don was also instrumental in the development of Strathclair Fields in Sault Ste. Marie. Thank you to the Sault Area Hospital Emergency Nursing staff for their care and attention. In keeping with Don’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service following his cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
