Ron Marin Pic 1

August 1, 1938 - June 23, 2021

Ron passed away at home with his family and beloved partner Debbie MacDonald of 36 years by his side. Loving father of Ronald Jr. (Laura) of Sudbury ON. Special Papa to Tamara, Matthew and Katie. Special great Papa to Owen (Mommy Darian). Dear son of the late Willey and late Helena Marin. Dear brother of Jeannine, Aliette, Andre (Lanel), Odette (late Andre), Elaine (late Larry), Roger, Nicole (Chris), Claire (Garry), Bert (Barb) and the late Claude, Adrien, Arnold, Hugette (late Renald), Geiven (Rose), Jean Guy (Darlena) and Lisette. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dear brother-in-law of Diane (Robert), Richard, Peter (late Donna), Paul (Joan) and Terry.

Ron was a hard-working man. He worked as a logger for many years with his father Willey in the family business, Marin Logging. He also worked at Midway Lumber Mill for 18 years and retired. He was well known for cutting and trimming trees. There wasn’t a tree he couldn’t cut or climb and no tree was too high for him. He could cut a tree and land it exactly where he wanted it to go. Ron continued to climb and cut until the age of 81.  He also enjoyed fishing and camping with his best friends Dianne Bowen and Jerry Boyer. I would like to thank Dianne for being there for me. Ron will be missed by many friends and his family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Voutsadikis and the Cancer Clinic for their care, and Dr. Karen Booth who supported Ron and our family anytime needed. Special thank you to Dr. Crawford and the Thessalon Clinic for their outstanding care and ongoing support. And to home nurse Amy who was absolutely awesome…I don’t know how we would have made it without you. A big thank you to Marney and Benny for their selfless assistance driving us back and forth to the Cancer Clinic. Thank you to Janet’s Warriors and Robin for helping with the cost of travel, to Tracey’s Dream for paying for parking and to Home Care for the supplies.

Donations in Ron’s memory can be made to Janet’s Warriors and are appreciated by the family.

As per Ron’s request there will be no services.
