We regretfully announce, with broken hearts, the passing of Laurise Marchand in her 89th year.

Beloved wife of the late Jacques Marchand. Loving and devoted mother of Jacqueline (Yvon) Belisle, Real (Patricia) Marchand, Michelle (late Edward) Letellier, and Therese Murray. Treasured grandmother, and affectionately known as Mamère, to Thevia (Denis), Maurice (Jocelyn), Adam (Robin), Justin (Amy), Melanie (David), Eugene (Julie), Danielle (Meggan), Lynaya (Mike), Jasmin (Alicia), Kaitlyn and Matthew. Cherished great grandmother to Tyson, Taylor, Denis Dylan, André, Aaron, Riley, Marc, Macy, Emma, Audrey, Evelyne, Marielle, Olivia, the late Ira, Sébastien and Ellis.

Predeceased by her parents Emile and Beatrice Lamothe. Dear sister of Edward (Holly, late Frances) Lamothe. Predeceased by her siblings Alice (Ralph) Ouimette, Evelyn (Roger) Tessier, and Irene (Paul) Bisaillon. Daughter-in-law of the late Ludger and Berthe Marchand. Dear sister-in-law of Gabrielle (late Fernand) Therrien, Françoise (late Albert) Ouellette, Evelyn Melchiorre, Margaret Marchand, and Marcelle (Bob) Crane. Sister-in-law to the late Rejean (late Jeannette) Marchand, late Germaine (late Joseph) Landry, late Henri (late Camilla) Marchand, late Simon (late Alma) Marchand, late Gerrard (late Lorraine) Marchand, and late Levi (late Marie, late Estelle) Marchand. Laurise will be remembered and cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Laurise will always be remembered for her infectious laugh, her strong faith and her devotion to sports, specifically the Montréal Canadiens, the Toronto Blue Jays and watching her grandchildren’s sporting events. Laurise’s biggest joy was spending time with her family, friends and seeing everyone gather together. Laurise was a beautiful soul who loved and was loved by many.

Laurise’s family would like to thank the kind and caring staff at both the Thessalon Hospital and the Sault Area Hospital for their diligent and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church or to Janet’s Warriors Transportation 4 Treatment. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honour and remember our extraordinary Laurise. Arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home
