Passed away peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Monday, February 8, 2021 in her 80th year. 

Predeceased by her beloved husband Donald William Maki. Much loved mother of Susan Lamothe (Raymond) and Terry Maki (Janet). Special Grandmother of Lindsay Bertolo (Donovan) and step grandmother to Jeffrey MacPherson. Proud GG to Drew Bertolo. Gayle was the daughter of the late Phyllis and late Edward Robinson. Daughter-in-law of the late Anselmi and late Jeanne Maki. Dear sister to Jean Schwinges-Lawrence (George), Lesley LeBlanc (Yvon) and Janice Hoover (Doug). Sister-in-law of the late Chico, late Bob, late Kenny, late Wayne and the late Philip Maki. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Gayle was a proud long serving employee of the Ministry of Natural Resources prior to her retirement. The family offers thanks to Dr. Shafiee, Dr. Berry and the Renal Department team for their care and guidance over the years. We would also like to thank NP Trish Zago, as well as the doctors, nurses and support staff at the SAH who cared for her over the past 5 months. Special thanks to everyone at ARCH for their exceptional care and compassion during her final days. As per Gayle's wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to ARCH would be greatly appreciated by the family.
