Passed away peacefully at Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at the age of 82.
Jean is now reunited with her dear husband Robert “Bob” Major. Cherished mother of Michael Major (Julie) of Barrie, Karen Major (Bob Hicks). Loving grandma of Robert Major (Stephanie), Ashley Murray Wood (Johnathan), Tyler Major (Kristen), Katie Hicks (Spencer), and Courtney Hicks (Dan). Great grandma of Joseph Murray Wood, Alex Murray Wood, Abigale Major, and Robert James "RJ" Major. Dear sister of Mary Phillips (late Harold). Sister-in-law of Jim Major (Dorieta), Lois Della Savia (late Lido) and predeceased by Bill Major, Marge Roberts (Albert), Lucy Schinners (Stan), Marion Blackmore (Harold), Shirley Crack (George), and Ruth Waltman (Paul). Special aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by many special friends and extended family members.
Jean was very active in the Seniors Centre for many years and made many lasting friendships throughout her time there. She also enjoyed volunteering with her husband, whether it be with Bon Soo, Sault Area Hospital, ARCH and many other organizations within the community.
At Jean's request cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest with her husband at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Canadian Lung Association, Sault Area Hospital Foundation or ARCH would be greatly appreciated.
