Giovanni Maione passed away after a long and courageous battle on Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at the Sault Area Hospital in his 78th year. Survived by his beloved wife Rita of 44 years. Loving father of Dr. Peter Maione (Jo-Anne) and Angela Vairo (Frank). Cherished nonno of Amanda and Brittany Maione and Louis, Robert and Jonathon Vairo. Dear brother of Michele (Maria), Rosina Maione (late Michele), Antonio (Maria) and Rita Fragomeni (Vito) of Sault Ste. Marie, Salvatore (Rita) of Toronto, Marietta Vitello (late Giulio) and Ciccio (Dora) of Paterno, Italy. Dear brother in law of Giovanni and Lina Richichi of Sault Ste. Marie, Salvatore and Agata Casciaro, Perino and Dora Merenda, Salvatore and Marietta Turco all of Paterno, Italy and Esterina and the late Luigi Vetero of Germany.
