Peacefully at Algoma Residential Community Hospice, on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late David John Madonna, the love of her life. Loving mom of Kristina Madonna (Trevor) and the late David Madonna. Distanced grandsons Dylan, David and Benjamin Madonna. Daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary Latham. Sister of the late Bill Latham (Patricia). Sister-in-law of the late Tony (Isabel), Robert (Linda), late Frank (Velia) and the late Nora Jewell (late Lorne). Aunt to Ruth (Jeff), Matt Latham, John (Mary), Toni (Lyle), Rob (Beth), Dan (Serena), Frances, Dan (Robin) and late Michael Jewell. Cousin to many. Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Mary was an amazing teacher and musician. She started teaching at 18 years old and continued to excel becoming a music teacher. She was promoted to Head Music Consultant at the Board of Education. A job she loved doing. After retirement she began travelling to amazing places. She made friends wherever she went: England, Ireland, New Zealand with the Festival Choir, which she was a member of for many years. Her love of music and different cultures sent her to New Orleans where the music moved her greatly. By far her favorite adventure was to China. The art and culture was amazing to her. She loved to take trips to Texas almost every year, where she had many friends and past colleagues to spend time with where it was warm. She was a member of the Happy Days Band who played the Legion every Wednesday for dancing. Many also had her band Yesterdays Wine with Jim Grant that entertained at the Senior Homes. She sang in the Festival Choir and played Piano for the Seniors Singers. Along with her piano skills, she learned to play the Alto Saxophone and also played guitar. She lived her life on her terms. And loved every minute of it.

As per Mary's wishes, a private family service has taken place. Memorial contributions to ARCH would be appreciated by the family. I would like to thank the nursing staff on 3C  at the Sault Area Hospital. You ladies and gentlemen are amazing. I would also like to thank the nurses and volunteers at ARCH for your loving care in her final days.

Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522).  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Madonna family.

Mary was an amazing Wife and Mother. She will be missed greatly.
