It is with great sorrow and broken hearts we announce the passing of our dear brother Mark MacLean in Tacloban, Philippines. Mark was the youngest and cherished son of the late Peter and Joyce (nee Bird). Much loved brother of Nancy, Marilyn (Gary), Peter (Brenda), Heather (Steven), Laurie (Craig), and Ian (Carol). Beloved friend of Marianne. Devoted uncle of Lucas, Sarah, Nicole, Natasha, Chantelle, Peter Bruce, Melissa, Kristina, Kyle, Lacey, Amy, Brittany, Moezha, Mozelle, the late Erin and late Brad. Proud great uncle of Eva, River, Mabel, Joshua, Carter, Brooklyn, Austin, Maddy, Aiden, Nico, Phoenix, Mila, Jack and Maverick. Mark will be fondly remembered by his aunt Shirley Bird, his many cousins as well as his friends in Canada and the Philippines.
Through his perseverance, resilience and adventure for life, Mark moved to the Philippines after meeting Marianne and for the last 14 years he enjoyed being a part of the Gelig family.
Mark always looked forward to his trips back home to Thessalon and Big Basswood Lake.
His love of the Habs and the Boss will live on forever.
Mark’s beautiful smile, infectious laugh, wittiness and zest for life will be sorely missed. Mark will be forever remembered and loved by all.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
