Peacefully at Algoma Residential Community Hospice, with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Helen (nee Ebare). Cherished son of the late Roderick and Mary MacKay of Inverness, Scotland. Loving father of Donald (Lana) and the late Roderick Arthur. Grumpy Grandpa of Alyssa (Dan) and Amber (Cameron). Great grandpa of Lucas. Dear brother of Donald (Joan) and Tina Davis (Phil). Derrick always considered Helen's family as his own. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews and by many in the community who knew him as a unique individual who was proud of his Scottish heritage. At his request there will be no funeral service. Memorial contributions to ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
