July 23, 1927 Ristiina, Finland. Passed away peacefully at Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the age of 94.
Jaakko is reunited with his dear wife Rauha Lustig. Loving father to Kari (wife Nancy Jane) of Sault Ste. Marie and Erja (husband Stephen Puttick) of Scarborough. Proud Pappa of Mika (wife Nahya Raidy) and Ansa Puttick. Predeceased by his parents Mikko and Lempi Lustig and his siblings Aili, Helvi and Hellä of Finland. Brother-in-law of Kaija Nuutilainen, late Alli Ruhanen of Sault Ste. Marie. He will also be greatly missed by many cherished nieces, nephews, friends and their families, both in Canada and Finland. A private service and interment in St. Luke’s Cathedral Columbarium is planned. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522). A special thank you to the staff at the Sault Area Hospital for their care. The family wishes to offer sincere thanks to all of the wonderful care providers at the ARCH for the comfort and compassion shown to Jaakko and to them during his final days.
