It is heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Eva at the Ontario Finnish Resthome Mauno Kaihla Koti on Sunday, September 8, 2019 with her family by her side at the age of 96. Loving wife of the late Leo. Dear mother of Peter (Kim) and the late John (Sarah). Grandmother of Adam and Matthew, who she adored dearly. Born in Latvia, Eva immigrated to Canada in 1952 and started a career in nursing, a job she held for 35 years. Eva loved gardening and her cottage at Red Rock. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at the Mauno Kaihla Koti for all their care and compassion given to Eva. In keeping with Eva’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Memorial donations to the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association (OFRA) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
