LECLAIR, Daniel Brian

He left this world in the loving arms of Karen and Brian. For 29 years we were blessed to have this wonderful, loving, and kind man in our lives. A son who brought so many gifts to all of his family. A brother to Barry John who he admired so deeply and was especially proud of.

His great smile, hugs, and quirky sense of humour will be sadly missed by friends and family. Daniel could start up a conversation with anyone. He would wear his Toronto Maple Leafs hoody and laugh at the responses so many people would give him.

Cooking was a favourite pastime especially on steak night at camp and special occasions. He found great joy and entertainment when playing with Cathy’s grandchildren, Grace and Ellie. Dogs, especially his own “Sandy”, held a special place in his heart.

Daniel lived life on his own terms.

He had attended Algoma University to study Finance and Economics. Time was spent reading books and dabbling in the stock market.

Daniel always aspired to become an underground miner, a fourth generation in our family. He was a hard working Redpath Man. He took pride in his accomplishments and that of his own team. “I am on the priority team of the heavy hitters that are driving the decline in the deepest, furthest, points of the mine” #tipofthespear. It filled him with a sense of adventure to go where a very select few men have been.

Our hearts will carry you wherever we go. We will see you in the rising of the sun each day and dream of you each night under the light of the moon. Holding you close forever, My love.

Daniel is survived by his parents Brian and Karen LeClair and brother Barry John LeClair (Samantha). Grandson of Virginia Turpeinen and the late John Henry Turpeinen, late Yvonne LeClair and the late Maurice LeClair. Great Grandson to Eva Tremblay. Nephew to Cathy Gorgi (Ralph), Myles Turpeinen, Brenda LeClair, David LeClair (Geraldine) and great nephew to Gail Fila. Cousin to Jessica Martin (Dave), Nicholas Martin (Fran), Mathew LeClair, Michael LeClair and Nicole Gee (Dale). Special family friend Lena Richards. Lifetime Friend of Chris White and Lyndsay Raycraft.

We thank Dr. Kuntz for her steadfast care of Daniel. To the ICU staff who tirelessly provided the best care possible. Special thank you to nurses Shawna and Anna.
