Peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on November 26, 2020. Anita was born to Nelida and Euclide Boyer on June 27, 1933 in Blind River, ON. She grew up in a traditional French- Canadian family and was the middle child of 15. She moved from Blind River to Laird Twp. (farm on Pumpkin Point Rd.) and then to Sault Ste. Marie.  She also spent some time living in the USA but returned to Sault, ON where she met the love of her life and raised her family.

She was predeceased by both parents, her 10 sisters Yvonne, Lorraine, Alice, Elizabeth, Nelida, Exilda, Alexina, Aurore, Gloria and her 5 brothers Louis, Euclide, Art, Raoul and Donald, as well as several brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

Anita will be remembered for her sense of humour, her strength and her love of people. She always helped those in need and had a gift for making everyone feel loved, wanted and special.

Anita is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Aurele , 3 children, Lorraine (late Donald) Bowen of Soo, ON; Arthur “Pete” (Billie-Jo) Bryson of Priceville, ON and Marie Monique (Kevin) Franks of Minot, ND.

She was the beloved grandmother of Rachelle Bryson, Peter (Lisa) Bryson, Robert Bryson, Solomon Rivers, Aaron (Donna) Rivers, the most loved Meme to Malia Franks, Joshua “JJ” Franks and Memere to Lincoln Bryson.

She leaves a legacy as the much loved Great Grandmother to Laura, Vanessa, Dylan, Emily, Briann, Bethany, William, Seth, Angelina, Daniel, Margo, Collin, Christian, Gabriel, Alyssa, Cheyenne, Hilary, Ethan, Alyssa and Hailey. She loved babies and loved her 5 great great grandkids, Allison, Claire, Charlotte, Axel and Clinton.

Anita enjoyed playing Yahtzee, cribbage and card games. She loved being with family (often being asked for her baked beans, Watergate salad or BBQ spareribs) and was a real 411 for all family history and stories. She could often be found at the mall food court visiting family and friends as if it was her own personal living room. She will be greatly missed by all.

Our family would like to express our sincerest thanks to Dr. Spadafora and the nursing staff at the Sault Area hospital and to Dr. Wilson, the nurses and the care team at ARCH who provided such wonderful care to Anita in her last 2 months. Your kindness, care and compassion were such a blessing to her and to us.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Anita chose to be cremated. A mass of Christian burial and a Celebration of her life will take place in the summer of 2021.

Donations to ARCH has been chosen by the family in lieu of flowers. Arrangements entrusted to O’Sullivan Funeral and Cremation Centre, 215 St. James St, 705-759-8456.
