Age 89, of Stratford, passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Born in Stratford, September 30, 1928, son of the late Delbert and Katherine (Fitch) Landers. Loving husband of Dorothy (Johnston) Landers of 60 years. Proud father of Nancy and her husband Paul Culliton of Stratford and Tom Landers of Mississauga. Survived by his brothers Ken and his wife Edna of London, Raymond of Sault Ste. Marie, Gerald of Stratford and his sister-in-law Susan Helm of London. Ron worked at Kroehler Manufacturing until his retirement. He enjoyed coaching minor baseball and minor hockey. He was a member of the Stratford Municipal Golf Course.  A lifelong and diehard fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Even when others fell off of the band wagon Ron stayed on, a little angry at times, but never lost the faith. He may not have seen them win another Stanley Cup but on the evening of his passing, with the T.V. on and his family gathered around him, the Leafs trounced the Canadiens 6-0 and that will give him peace. Predeceased by Landers sisters and brothers-in-law; Dorothy and her husband Stewart Crew, Jean and her husband Frank Bishop, Mae and her husband Roy Taylor and Jean Landers.  Johnston brothers and sisters-in-law George and his wife Cassie, Kathleen (Kal) and her husband Lorne McTavish, Joan and her husband Bud Haveling, Jim and his wife Muriel and Tom Johnston. Family and friends may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 4-8:00 p.m. The funeral will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, November, 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Avondale Cemetery.
