Frank’s journey on this earth ended on the morning of February 22nd at the Sault Area Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, at the age of 91 years.
He was the best friend and beloved husband of Meg. Adored father of Frankie (Virginia), Cheri (Kenny), Suzanne, and Mark (Kathy). Loving stepfather of Jackie (Cully), Karen (Paul), and Mark (Stephanie). A lifelong friend of Jean. Much loved “Gramps” to 21 grandchildren and great grandfather to 13.
Frank was born in Franz, Ontario and had an enduring love of the Canadian North. He was an entrepreneur who owned a large lumber business, Soo Canal Boat Tours and several other smaller concerns. He lived his life happily and energetically at 90 miles an hour! He enjoyed flying as a pilot. He was an avid skier, tennis player, hunter, fisherman, boater, golfer and cottage lover. Frank was devoted to his adored dog, Raffi. What a ride!!
At Frank’s request, there will be no services. A Celebration of his Life will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the SAH Foundation, Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society, Sault Search and Rescue or the charity of your choice. A very special thank you to our good friend, Dr. Paul Gupta for keeping Frank with us for 20 extra years. A heartfelt thank you to the staff of the SAH 1B, Collegiate Heights and the VON for all their loving care over the last 2 years.
