Posted

Passed away on Friday January 30, 2004 in his 72nd year. Zoltan fought long and hard to beat his cancer and never ever stopped fighting. Beloved husband of Christel. Loving father to Zoltan 'Toots' Kovacs (Diana) and Susan Weigel (Andrew). Cherished grandpa to Nadia, Bronson and Carmen. Very endeared father to Leon Chojnowski, Mark Chojnowski (Jody), Stanley Chojnowski of Calgary, Gabriel Garniss (Derek) and Stephanie Bestall (Pat) of London. Special grandfather to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Zoltan enjoyed spendinghis winters tuning up his golf game in Tempe, Arizona. His special friends and family; David, Linda, Brandon, Christopher, Hanna, Nikolaus, Robert, Carolayn, Nikolaus, Jake, the late Tina, Nick, Fran, Ray and Nat will miss him. Over the years, Zoltan grew very close to the Orazietti family. Gloria, Leonard, Joe, Adelia, Bobby, late Billy, Paul and especially the late Antoinette. They will miss him dearly. Zoltan emigrated from Hungary in 1956. From the day he landed in Canada to the day God took him from us, Zoltan never shyed away from a hard days work. Many will remember him in the late 1950's and 1960's washing windows for Day-Lite Window Cleaning. Zoltan enjoyed time with his friends in the great outdoors. Rest assured the moose, deer and fish of Northern Ontario are now safe! He cherished every moment he spent fishing and hunting with Gary, Barry, Archie and Fred. Zoltan also loved hockey. Although he never skated a day in his life hebecame very involved in every other aspect of the game from sponsor, to an owner, fundraiser, executive and best of all the cheering grandpa. 'Be tough out there' was always his favourite saying. Zoltan was a generous man and he was always the first one in line to help out those less fortunate. Dr. Walde and Dr. Spadafora, you are both two very caring and thoughtful people. Your kindness and dedication to your profession was very much appreciated.
