Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital, with her family by her side on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her loving husband Ron (1992), her parents Ralph and Stella Evoy as well as her siblings Lola Cook and Harvey Evoy. She is survived by her brother-in-law Keith Cook, sister-in-law Jackie Evoy and much loved nieces and nephews. Elaine will be forever loved and sorely missed by her three children Patti Hambly (Jody), Christine Gillespie (Terry) and Kevin Katerenchuk. She had four grandkids that she loved so much. Gram will always be loved and missed dearly by Curtis Hambly, Claire Jarrell (Matt), Jessica Luck (Corey) and Gregory Gillespie (Anna). She really was the best Gram! Gram was also lucky enough to have had the pleasure of being promoted to Great Gram (G.G.) to eight great grandkids, whom she loved so very much! Maddy, Makensy, Mitchell, Miller, Bryleigh, Mikhyla. Michael Terrance and Maria Christine.
Elaine loved spending time with her family and friends, being at camp on the island and traveling, having visited so many places, with her son Kevin. A special thank you to all the staff at the F.J. Davey Home for the past three years as well as all the doctors and nurses at the Sault Area Hospital over the past week, especially Melissa and Tara.
In keeping with Elaine's wishes there will not be a funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. In Elaine's memory play a game of cards, enjoy "Happy Hour" and spend time together. Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
