Peacefully at home with family on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the age of 76.  Beloved husband of Wanda Jackson (nee D’Angelo) and the late Carolyn Ann Jackson (nee Young 1973).  Loving father of Benjamin Jackson, Brian and Penelope (Astles) Jackson, Jeffrey Jackson, Larry and Kelly (MacDonald) Jackson, Christine Westland (Jackson), Robert and Amy (Fabiano) Jackson, and Victoria Jackson and Scott Cudney.  Devoted grandfather of Sarah, Matthew, Julia, Lauren, Rebecca, Amy, Andrew, Hannah, Maria and Abigail.  Dear brother of Paul (Shirley) and the late Larry (Taye). Allan graduated from Queen’s University in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.  He retired in 1996 from the City of Sault Ste. Marie as Chief Administrative Officer after 35 years of service. Allan was well known in the community with his involvement with different organizations.  He was past President of the Ontario Municipal Administrators’ Association (1987-1988), past President of the Ontario Good Roads Association (1985-1986), past President of the Ontario Municipal Engineers Association (1973-1974), past Member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, past Director of the Pollution Control Association of Ontario (now Water Environment Association of Ontario), past Member of the Joint International Bridge Authority Board of Directors (2000-2004), past Member and Director of the St. Mary’s River Bridge Company, past Member and Chair of the Board of the Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology, past Member of the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre; Chair of the Board of Trustees and Member of the Board of Directors, past Member of the Sault Ste. Marie United Way Board of Directors, Member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario from 1960-2008, past Chapter Chair of the Algoma Engineers Association, past President of the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie (1991-1992); member since 1984; District Area Representative (1993-1995); Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow and Member of the Sault Ste. Marie Lakeshore Kiwanis Club (1967-1972).  Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm.  Funeral Mass celebrated from St. Jerome’s Catholic Church on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 10 am.  Msgr.
