Surrounded by the love of her family, Helen passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the age of ninety-three. She will be remembered for her generous heart and acts of kindness towards her family, and for the love of her garden and flowers within it. Along with her beloved husband, the late Vladimir (Walter) Hroch she will now live in the hearts of her children John (late Josephine), Dagmar Planting (Peter), Peggy Jones (Andy), Helen Dahl (Glen), Peter, the late Rick (Bev), Janet Carroll (Michael), and Eva Blevins (Garry). She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, the late Dennis, Mark (Monique), Tina Lillie (Frank), Jaana Waugh (Bill), Patrick Planting (Lisa), Kim Hornby, Jennifer Hornby-Pelletier (Al), Aaron Dahl (Carol), Jonathan Dahl (Miranda), Erin Walsh (Brin), Jason (Jennifer), Nick (Ashley), Kelsey, and Abby. A very special Babi to her many great grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew, Joseph, Kayla (Jessey), Kaitlyn (Justin), Jakob, Julianna, Isabelle, Madison, Jaron, Logen, Maverick, Brayden, Myles, Caileigh, Zoe, and cherished by her great great grandchildren Preston, Karsen, and Leylann. She will be missed by family and friends in the Czech Republic. Helen was a gentle and kind mother, grandmother/Babi, who impacted the lives of her family in such a quiet, unselfish way. She will surely be missed but she gave her family so many beautiful memories. We thank you Mom and Dad for all the love, memories and values you instilled in us. Heartfelt appreciation is given to those who aided in her care from CarePartners, CCAC, Bayshore, and the staff and nurses at the Sault Area Hospital. Close friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. for a funeral service in the chapel. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to ARCH’s Pediatric Palliative Care unit would be appreciated as it was a charity close to Babi’s heart.  www.northwoodfuneral.com
