Arlene Hollingshead

February 27th, 1933 – June 26th, 2022

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Arlene in her 90th year. Beloved wife to the late, Robert W. Hollingshead. Strong, supportive, and loving mother of Debbie McLeod (Darcy Lamming), Bob (Lynn), Ken (Dawn), Leslie Nethery (Chris), Sharon Marotta (Fred) and the late baby Karen. Devoted Grandma of Dean Lamming (Alyssa), Lisa Spadari (Thiago), Jennifer Hollingshead, Thomas and Raymond Hollingshead, Michael Nethery, Megan Marotta (Jarrett Longo) and Michael Marotta (Alyse). Great-grandmother of 4. Dear sister of Dick Baic (late Audrey), Pat Falldien (Jack) and Doug Baic (Audrey). Sister-in-law to the late Bill Hollingshead (late Maxine) and the late Colleen LaRue (Joe). Life-long best friend of Alice Mullin.

Our mother had many deep-rooted relationships, fond memories, and a profound sense of pride as a graduate of the Grey Sisters of Immaculate Conception General Hospital, Saint Mary’s School of Nursing. She was a dedicated and compassionate caregiver both at work and at home. She had a special way with children and babies and loved her work in the nursery at the General Hospital.
A special thank you to the Renal Dialysis Team at the Sault Area Hospital, the doctors, and staff of 3B especially Sonia Blonda, Bailey and Dan for all their care and compassion shown to our mother and to our family.

As per Arlene’s wishes a private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to the Renal Care Fund of the SAH or 3B Palliative Care Fund would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E., 705-759-2522). Please visit www.arthurfuneralhome.com to leave a message of condolence or keepsake for the family.
