HILDEBRANT, Barry - BIO
Our fearless leader has completed his final business transaction and has gone to be together once more with the love of his life, our mom, Margaret.  After a brief illness, Barry passed away at Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) February 7, 2018 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Margaret (deceased March 2016) for 48 years. Devoted father to Jason (Dee Diaz) and Jennifer Mackay (George Levesque). Much loved Paw of Alyssa (Daniel Gignac) and Amber (Cameron Oliver) and extra special Paw to his great grandson Lucas.   Brother and friend to Leslie (Betty), Gordon (Eileen), Paul (Marie), Bruce (Marilyn), Iris Fisher (Jim) and Fern Turcotte (Bryan).  Brother-in-law to late Harold Hogan, late Hannah Hogan, Lois Lavigne (late Rolly), Frances Meloche (late Pete), Patsy Trudeau (late Del), late Jimmy Hogan (Claire), late JoAnn Fournier (Denis), Eric Hogan (Mary-lou), and late Richard Hogan (Mireille). Special uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Barry will reserve a corner booth for his most special friends Paul and Dale Godfrey who we would like to thank for their love and support throughout this hard time.  Barry was a leading member of the business community here in Sault Ste. Marie. His financial foresight and knowledge was shared with all those around him. Barry loved passing on his knowledge to those who wanted to learn from him.  His extensive career with Guaranty Trust is what brought him to the Soo over forty years ago. He went on to be an independent business owner and successfully ran numerous companies here in town. He fondly remembers his time as Treasurer of the Sault Rotary Club. Barry has had a profoundly positive impact on the lives of many people who came to know him. The outpouring of support from people whose lives our dad has had a positive impact on has been overwhelming. We would like to thank you all for your kind words. We never knew our dad has helped and impacted so many people that it is overwhelming. Thank you to all.  Family and friends are invited to visit Arthur Funeral Home and Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. – 705-759-2522) on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 6 pm to 9 pm.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 in the chapel at 1 pm. Rev. Paul Conway officiating.  Interment Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Look Good, Feel Better Foundation (lgfb.ca) and Arch Hospice would be appreciated by the family.  Godspeed Dad, until we meet again.
