It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Liz our mother and friend peacefully with family by her side at Algoma Residence Community Hospice on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the age of 81.
Loving mother of Andrew (Jane Wallace) and Laura Heywood (Rene St. Amand). Proud grandmother of Charles and Grace. Dear sister of George Burns (Darlene), Janet Fleming (Gary) and the late Charles Burns. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Liz was a long time resident of Echo Bay, where she will be missed by many friends and extended family. During the 70's and 80's she was co-owner and operator of Surf Side Restaurant and Echo Bay Marina. In her retirement years after teaching high school, Liz chose to keep working part time at Home Depot for the past 16 years. Family and friends are invited to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522) to a Memorial Service in the chapel on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. and a time of fellowship and reception following the service, Mrs. Helen Smith officiating.
